Many travelers carry personal medications while traveling, but regulations regarding what can be brought into or carried on board vary from country to country. Therefore, it is important to know the regulations before your trip to avoid any violations or confiscation.

First: Permitted Medications

• Generally, medications are permitted for personal use only.

• Medications must be in their original packaging and in quantities appropriate for the duration of the trip.

• Liquid medications are subject to liquid restrictions (usually no more than 100 ml in hand luggage).

Second: Required Documents

• A prescription or medical report stating the name of the medication, its dosage, and the reason for its use.

• If the medication contains controlled substances (such as strong painkillers or sedatives), a medical permit or prior approval from the health authority in the destination country is required.

Third: Medications Prohibited or Requiring Special Approval

• Some countries prohibit the entry of medications containing codeine, tramadol, or certain hormones, even with a prescription.

• Lists vary from country to country, so it is advisable to check the website of the health authority or customs office in your destination country before departure. Travel Advice

Carry your medications in your hand luggage for easy access, and keep a copy of your prescription in both Arabic and English to facilitate security checks.
